April Challenge - Paula Varjack: I Am Only Responsible...

"Paula Varjack comes from London, Washington and other places she's forgotten. She's the kind of the girl that will kiss and tell. Not only will she tell, she’ll tell an audience of hundreds. She has been compared to that girl who who found herself in a garden with a pretty but stupid boy, and a sexy but dangerous snake. Caught between her passion/lust/love for London and Berlin, she’s scheming a way to have both."
Source
I am only responsible...
And I decided something
I’m only responsible
For what I say
Not for what you understand
Today I woke up
And realised something
I’m only responsible for what I say
Not for what you understand
If you’re by yourself
IF you enjoy being by yourself
If you get to the point where
You’re so content
Just with yourself
Soon enough
Someone will join you
If you’re with someone
And you love being with someone
And all you can think
Today, tomorrow
The week the year after
Is to never leave them…
One day you or they
Will leave
(wake up tomorrow and tell yourself. ..)
this is the moment
This is the only moment
Right now
That you can be sure of
And whatever you’re doing
Whatever you’ve achieved
This is exactly the place
That you’re meant to be
(Give of yourself
Give as much as you can)
You can’t be anywhere else
Then right here right now
So take it
Open up your hands
Wrap yourself around it
(and allow yourself to..)
Be here with me
We’re creating a memory
We’ll look back at this and remember
(You can do with this whatever you like
you can translate this however you like)
And everything ends…
But for every ending
There’s a beginning
There’s a dream
There’s a future
It’s starting now
Right here
Turn to the person next to you
And say
These words may flow
But I don’t know where they’re going
And I am only responsible
For what I say…
Those words feel SO real to me, right NOW.
Using these words to empower this month!

Inspirational Beauty: Bibi McGill

(See website)
You may recognise her as the lead guitarist for Beyonce. Incredible musician, Yogini, Peaceful Creative Warrior. While searching for material to post up, I was going through some old downloaded innerviews from various sources and this interview was by far one of the most inspiring! I knew I had to re-post this up... Bibi talks about life as a musician, about holistic health and so many other beautiful things... Enjoy!
"The fast-emerging phenom known as Bibi McGill picked up her first guitar at age twelve. Growing up, her earliest inspirations were the retro seventies' grooves of Earth, Wind and Fire, Mandrill, and the Commodores. The Isley Brothers was her first concert. As she listened and learned to single out the guitar in music, she started schooling herself in the harder, rock-based sounds. At first, bands such as Heart, Led Zeppelin, and The Eagles fed her developing fury. Next came Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Pantera, and Judas Priest. Randy Rhodes, Ozzy Osbourne's original guitarist, was-and still is-Bibi's all-time favorite! For the Colorado native, these jams were just the beginning of an awesome journey past making-it milestones and musical frontiers. After graduating from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Scoring and Arranging, Bibi took off for California and hit the local club circuit. Pounding the pavement in Los Angeles, playing at clubs such as The Viper Room and The Whiskey, was as rough as it was exciting. At times, Bibi could barely make the rent going from gig to gig. At the same time, she was developing a full-tilt, aggressive energy in her performances that was catching on and drawing a following.
Musically, by then she had opened herself to a wide range of inspirations: from individual artists such as Korn, Goodie Mob, Madonna, and John P. Kee, to whole genres of music-House, Electronic, World, Hip-Hop, R&B, and Gospel. Financially, however, she needed to make a move. At first hesitant to get involved with the Hollywood actors' scene, Bibi could no longer ignore those who had seen her on stage and who kept encouraging her to get an agent, not just for music but also for acting and modeling. She decided she had nothing to lose in checking it out.
To her surprise, she was quickly scooped up by Dragon Talent and Dragon Models-an agency in Los Angeles that specializes in alternative, edgy people-and began working immediately. Scoring principal roles in a half-dozen national commercials, including Motorola, Nike, and Heineken, she finally had a source of income that enabled her to fine-tune her guitar skills and take her music to the next level.
In 2001, Bibi's career in music erupted. She hooked up with Pink for her promotional tour in November and started blazing the stages of London, Spain, Singapore, Germany, and Australia with her high-voltage licks and stage moves. She continued the tour onto high-profile TV shows, including Saturday Night Live, MTV's Total Request Live, the Billboard Music Awards, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and Britain's Top of the Pops. She wailed into 2002 with Pink at the one and only Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve. Quickly on the heels of Pink's promo tour, Bibi took to the road once more, this time with "The Mexican Madonna" Paulina Rubio to play the opening slot for the Enrique Iglesias tour.
When not touring, Bibi plays guitar for the Full Gospel Mass Choir at a little church in South Central Los Angeles. By playing locally and touring with bands, Bibi has learned to play nearly every style of music. The music Bibi herself writes reflects all of her influences yet leans unmistakably toward the heavier, harder side of sound. Keep an eye out for this dynamic performer. On a stage near you, she'll be kicking ass."

I look forward to hearing the upcoming inner-view by her!

Super Natural... Sista Clarisse
I'm loving this woman ;o)

This song is a constant in my player at this moment...
I enjoy tuning into music that celebrates how a woman feels about their Self.... the way SHE wants to celebrate her beauty (inner/outer) and not what we are often told is a symbol of beauty... So what truly does make you feel be-you-to-full?
This is what this song means to me when I listen to it. I wonder how I have changed through the years in my own inner vision of what makes me feel/look beautiful. So much has changed. But there is always a familiar theme that runs through the stages... "Your health is your wealth" - I feel beautiful when I feel healthy (Grounded by a healthy body/Earth vehicle and uplifted by an inspired mind/soul). And when the sun shines!
We've been getting plenty of that here! London has had a nice taste of Summer sunshine and the warmth has kept me far FAR away from my computer... so I've been a bit lazy with updates in this blog. It's nice to be able to return and find some emails with your feedback on these posts - Give thanks!
