My Locs Aren't Perfect But...

I love a topic that came up on one of the hair forums that celebrated each locer's individuality...

I know one of my early frustrations in my loc journey was expecting my locs to be "perfect" (whatever that means!). I had the idea that locs were supposed to look like the pictures I saw in hair mags and that they would quickly form into perfect non-bumpy thick strands - how wrong I was lol! Locs are individual and that's the beauty about them!

My locs aren't perfect, BUT... I'm OK with that!

My locs are full of uneven bumps, but I'm OK with that!

My locs are different sizes and lengths, but I'm OK with that!

I feel other people are sometimes more attached to my locs than I am, but I'm OK with that!

My locs are still fuzzy and filled with stray hairs, but I'm OK with that!

My locs take a whole day to dry and I need to plan ahead before washing, but I'm OK with that!

I trim my locs every couple of years to keep them from getting too long and in the way, but I'm OK with that!

My roots look like a mini afro, but I'm OK with that!

My locs refuse to stay black even after constant dye jobs, but I'm OK with that!

My locs don't have much volume to them, but I'm OK with that!

My locs attract dirt and soak up city fumes/pollution very easily so they need constant washing, but I'm OK with that!

My locs never hold a style for too long, but I'm OK with that!

My locs are always thirsty for moisture and go through dry spells, but I'm OK with that!

I often perform loc-surgery to save my older loc ends, but I'm OK with that!

I have more locs one one side of my head than the other, but I'm OK with that!

I still am a PJ (Product junkie) even though I hardly use any of them on my locs, but I'm OK with that!

My loc beads keep disappearing and falling off, but I'm OK with that!
