Liquid Gold: Argan Oil For Hair & Body

I have been on a mission to find a new oil that would work for my locs and skin. I have tried many and often find that I can only really use oils in the really cold months, otherwise it becomes far too thick for me. So when a friend sent me an email with this oil information, I became very curious!

I have been using it on my face and locs for 2 weeks and it is wonderful! A little expensive but the good news is that a little goes a LONG way! I have combination skin with oily areas so I was unsure if applying oil in this area would be a good idea but it surprisingly has made these areas soft, with less shine.

Argan oil is one of the rarest oils in the world. It is produced by using the kernels of the argan tree, a protected tree found in Morocco, valued for its nutritive, medicinal and cosmetic properties.

Argan is mainly recognised for its anti-aging and skin restructuring properties due to the essential fatty acids, antioxidants and vitamin E that are naturally present. Although argan oil is mainly known for its therapeutic and cosmetic purposes, it can also be eaten in salads, cooked with or used as a dip (although the oil we sell should not be used for this purpose).

Traditionally argan oil is used by the Berber women in Morocco, who use it to protect and nourish their hair, skin and nails from the Moroccan climate. Recently, however, argan oil has become popular world-wide.

To name but a few of its benefits for cosmetic use:

It boosts the skins regenerating capabilities due to the content of essential fatty acids and vitamin E.

It can help repair and protect the skin from external aggressions and premature aging.

It can help restore dry damaged hair and reduce breakage (rub a small amount into your hair starting at the ends. For dry scalps massage the oil into the roots, leave for half an hour and shampoo out).

It acts as an antioxidant.

It can help protect muscles from age related degeneration.

It softens dry skin, rehydrates and revitalises tired and wrinkled skin to help give skin a youthful glow.

It can aid relief for burns and scars.

It strengthens nails and stops both fingernails and toenails from becoming dry.

It can help reduce psoriasis and the look of stretch-marks.
